Alpha Rev
If you spend any time on our site or at our events, you'll see lots of mention of Alpha Rev and their lead singer, Casey McPherson.
We can't say enough good things about them. We are working with them to produce high school lunch concert tours where Casey
performs and also speaks to suicide, mental illness, and substance abuse. Casey is also the host of our
podcast called The Other Sides of Suicide. Buy their CDs and buy tickets to their shows and buy their merch because
they never stop supporting us and are huge advocates of suicide prevention.
Ways You Can Help
Be That Friend
Take a risk. Take a little extra time to get to know your friends - to listen to them. Make it a challenge to really understand them.
And, don't be afraid to talk
about suicide or depression or abuse or any other junk - and don't be afraid to ask someone if they are considering suicide. Yeah, that could be some tough
conversation, but getting to know them and why they feel the way they do can be a great step toward healing.

Our PurposeMusic and Friends for Life
We all want someone who will really listen to us and take the time to understand us without assuming things about us - someone we can share our struggles with.
However, a lot of us don't think anyone can or will and we lose hope. The fact is that there are people who can understand - but not enough of us
make the time - even for our own friends and family members.
Our mission is to use music and musicians to encourage, educate, and inspire high school and college students to support their friends who are having mental health problems.

When in Crisis
Many people mistakenly think that the crisis centers are only for someone considering suicide. They are also great resources if you know or suspect someone is considering
suicide or struggling with mental health issues because they can help you figure out more ways you can help and guide you to more resources.
If you or someone you know are having thoughts about suicide, call 1.877.YOUTHLINE (968.8454) 24/7/365. Your call will be immediately connected to a trained,
Teen-to-Teen, peer crisis counselor. If you don't want to talk to a teenager, you can also call 1.800.SUICIDE (784.2433) to be immediately connected
to a certified crisis center nearest to your calling location. These are both programs of the Kristin Brooks Hope Center.
